I’m a non-techie in a valley of techies. And I’m fine with that.
I love living in an area that draws smart people from all over the world. There’s no place quite like the valley. The technology is fascinating. But it’s the diversity of the people that interests me. I love hearing their stories, their family origins, and how they find peace in a valley where you’re always in the fast lane.
The food here? Off the hook. Sushi, Korean bibimbap, carnitas, dim sum, pho, biriyani—and spicy, steaming things from a tandoori oven.
But the biggest cultural exchange in my life is my marriage to a software engineer. I’ve learned the joys of game playing, Star Trek and science fiction. I’ve learned to understand–at least a little–when my husband talks about the tech details of his job.
