I write. I play guitar. I’m kind of a nerd.
A twenty-year veteran of the high-tech industry, I enjoy living in an area that draws smart people from all over the world. There’s no place quite like the valley. Of course, the technology is fascinating. But what really intrigues me is the diversity of the people. I love hearing their stories, their family origins, and how they find peace in a valley where you’re always in the fast lane.
Did I mention that the food here is off the hook? Sushi, Korean bibimbap, carnitas, dim sum, moussaka, biriyani—and spicy, steaming things from a tandoori oven. It’s crazy amazing.
But by far, the biggest cultural exchange in my life is my marriage to a software engineer. I’ve learned the joys of game playing, Star Trek and science fiction. I have even learned to understand–at least a little–when my husband talks about the tech details of his job.
